![]() ![]() It may also work with the GOG version, so post here and let others know whether it works. Largely because whenever they say "DEATH TO THE BARD!" during battle, I feel like adding on, "BARDS FOR THE BARD GOD!" and "BARDS FOR HIS BARD THRONE!" I don't know why I equate them to Khorne Berserkers I just do.Įducational Value. Bards Tale IV Directors Cut +9 (Character Editor, Gold, One Hit Kill, Godmode lite, +more) by gideon25 » Tue 4:37 pm This was made with the steam version updated to November of 2019. Listening to the songs (Particularly "Beer, Beer, Beer")įighting Druids. My favorite things to do in this game include: The Bards Tale is something a little different, though. It's not the best game around, and the fight system can get tedious and difficult, but it's funny enough that I played through it for the second time now, and at a low enough price (I think I paid < $20 for it) it's worth a shot. Admittedly, they're not terribly balanced out - some will be top-tier, others are just there until you find something better. ![]() Some heal others find traps and deactivate them (by activating them!) and others still will eerily remind you of That Rabbit from That Holy Grail Film. The other thing is the game's summoning system: As The Bard, you can learn a variety of tunes as the game progresses to summon various creatures and heroes to your aid. You don't want to be an ass all the time, but neither do you want to be nice. Choosing one or the other can be tricky, as there aren't very many cues - but that's more the fun of it. One, having the option at a number of points to either be Snarky (usually intimidating/crass btw, all lines by the Bard are voice acted by Cary Elwes) or Nice (sounds lame, but sometimes it actually is a good idea). What's kinda nice about this game is two things: For parody, the plot actually comes across as kinda deep the end, especially seeing as how so many of the so-called "Chosen Ones" (who more or less have the same overall objective as you) die off in numerous horrific yet silly ways. It's an Action RPG, but it's largely meant as a parody - there are as many "Chosen Ones" as there are Village Idiots, the Bard himself is best described as a lecherous jerkass (even the Narrator hates him!), you get a long chain of misadventures, and of course, nearly everyone dies (usually by you, whether directly or not). Cant Be Hurt toggle - Immunity to all attacks except certain traps. Me, I have a copy from a while back (bought it at Gamestop), so no thanks. All codes are used by holding L-SHIFT (left shift) and tapping via arrow keys. So I'm told, it's also on Android if you want it. So for those of you unaware, this RPG popped up on (at least) the PS2 back in the day. ![]()
